Occasional presence at the Dundee office (Ninewells Hospital) and other NES regional offices is a requirement of this role.

Who We Are 

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.  

The Clinical Skills Managed Educational Network (CSMEN) is based within the Medical Directorate of NES but has a multi-professional outlook and collaborates with other NES directorates including Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions (NMAHP), Dental, Pharmacy, Optometry, as well as the NHS Scotland Academy. We work closely with external stakeholders (i.e Simulation Centres, Universities and Royal Colleges) providing skills and simulation training to healthcare professionals throughout Scotland. 


The Opportunity 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our dynamic, highly talented team to support the development of the simulation community within NES and enable innovative, quality-assured skills and simulation-based learning across health and social care. 

Working as a Network Coordinator (Admin Officer) within the team you will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive administration support to the core CSMEN team including the Clinical Lead and CSMEN Manager.

  • Highly developed organisational skills - organise meetings (scheduling meeting dates, preparing documents, taking minutes and setting up action trackers); manage and update the Network database.  

  • Effective communicator – first point of contact; inform Network members of upcoming skills and simulation events; coordination of social media communications; promotional work by attending conferences/training events. 

  • Event management experience. 

  • Knowledge of website authoring tools. 

  • Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise workload and to meet strict deadlines. 

  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary.
