NHS Golden Jubilee has an exciting opportunity for a clinical psychologist with experience in the field of clinical health psychology. You will be joining an established team, who contribute to the clinical care to patients for advanced heart failure and transplant, adult congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, and complex orthopaedics, provided across the specialist national services hosted at this site: Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service; Scottish National Advanced Heart Failure Service; and Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit. The team is led and supported by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Head of Service who will provide the successful post holder with the necessary support.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to undertake an innovative project developing a new regional digital service delivering psychological care to patients in receipt of a cardiac device, e.g., implantable cardioverter defibrillator. The service will be delivered using an array of digital solutions such as Near Me and computerised CBT, experience of which is desirable, to engage patients in 1:1 and group sessions as appropriate. You will work closely with existing members of the team, providing and facilitating support in line with the Psychology strategy. This post will provide a great opportunity for the consolidation and development of your skills as a clinical psychologist, working in physical and digital health. The service intends to seek ongoing funding to extend the scope and duration of the post.

Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or HCPC, registration with the HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist and training in clinical supervision are all essential. Relevant experience of assisting in MDT debriefs, staff training and other staff support activities will be an advantage. The successful applicant will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, an excellent professional attitude, and relevant clinical experience.

The post holder will have a high level of autonomy in driving the project forward, and evaluating and reporting on the outputs and success of the service, with further opportunities for project extension and funding. Golden Jubilee University National Hospital will be the base for the post holder, with flexibility around a level of home working.
