Who We Are

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.

The Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals (NMAHP) Directorate includes the Spiritual Care and Healthcare Chaplaincy workstreams and works at a national level to support the delivery of NES’s strategic plan and works in response to commissions from the Scottish Government, Territorial and National Boards and a range of stakeholders to develop Workforce Education. Our work and partnerships support practitioners working in Health and Social Care to develop throughout their careers and with high quality accessible resources to support their ongoing professional development.

Within the NMAHP Directorate sits the Public Health Programme, which includes health protection. NES has strategic partnerships with a range of stakeholders in relation to health protection including Public Health Scotland. A key strand of the work of the team is the provision of national, quality assured workforce education resources and opportunities in relation to vaccination.

This role offers an opportunity to influence vaccination practice and enhance service delivery.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our Public Health Programme.

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills as an educator within an innovative and supportive team.

Do you  want to lead and work with vaccination service specific groups (in particular Public Health Scotland and NHS Boards) in the ongoing development of educational content in response to new evidence or external review and evaluation of resources?

Do you enjoy developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders across disciplines?

Do you want to share your experience, knowledge and skills to benefit others?

Do you want to provide professional leadership to the workstream(s) and ensure that the project plan is fully integrated with stakeholders and the public?

Do you have a quality improvement mindset?

Working within the Public Health team in the NMAHP Directorate you will have the opportunity to share, develop and discover a stimulating, iterative and dynamic way of working.

Does this sound like you?
