Associate Postgraduate Dean: Trainee Development and Wellbeing

Who We Are:  NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations. 

This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in the Scottish Trainee Development and Wellbeing Service (TDWS). The TDWS is committed to helping doctors in training in Scotland meet their full potential, assisting trainees with professional support and development, careers advice and advice on flexible training. 

The postholder will devise a learning and support plan for individual trainees and sign post them to resources which may help them continue in their programme and achieve their potential. The postholder will also be an active participant in helping the TDWS evolve to anticipate and meet the wider development needs of doctors in training across Scotland.  

You must be a Consultant or a Principal in General Practice with MRCGP and have experience in postgraduate education and trainee support. Your communication and organisational skills should be excellent.  

This post is subject to annual review. These posts are for Scotland and will be appointed for 3 years in the first instance, subject to annual review. The salary will be based on the Consultant Scale.
