Addictions Doctor – Salaried GP

Lanarkshire Community Prescribing Service

The post of Addictions Doctor will provide an exciting opportunity for a GP with an interest in substance misuse. We have 8 sessions per week available and will consider various sessional commitments with up to 6 sessions available for any one individual.

Lanarkshire Community Prescribing Service is a community based service providing treatment across Lanarkshire.

We are, ideally, looking for an Addictions Doctor who can demonstrate appropriate knowledge and experience and an ability to provide input to our well established Addictions service. We will also be happy to consider and train a doctor with more limited addictions experience, but with enthusiasm and a willing to learn. You will provide support and treatment to those presenting with substance use problems within any locality in NHS Lanarkshire.  You will be part of an enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team with a holistic approach to treatment, which comprise of Addictions Doctors, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Occupational Therapists, Prescribing Pharmacists, Social Care Workers/Social Workers, Specialist Psychologists and Specialist Psychiatrists.

Contributing to developing and delivering a comprehensive care service in Addictions, you will provide skilled assessment, treatment and care to patients with drug dependency.
