NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
This will be across 1 PA of time (1PA = 4 hours)
The Scotland Deanery is responsible for postgraduate medical education.

The Foundation Programme Director will be responsible for managing a Foundation Programme and the education and training needs of each individual on the programme, approximately 30 residents, based in the following hospitals:
W01: FY 1 QEUH, NHS GGC; FY 2 QEUH, NHS GGC
W04: FY 1 UHA, NHS A&A; FY 2 QEUH NHS GGC
W16: FY 1 FVRH, NHS FV; FY 2 FVRH, NHS FV and QEUH, NHS GGC
W29: FY 1 UHW and UHH, NHS Lanarkshire; FY 2 UHW and UHH, NHS Lanarkshire
W34: FY 1 D&GRI, NHS D&G, UHA NHS A&A, QEUH NHS GGC; FY 2 D&GRI NHS D&G, UHC NHS A&A, UHA NHS A&A
W35: FY 1 GRI NHS GGC; FY 2 GRI NHS GGC and QEUH NHS GGC
W36: FY 1 RAH, IRH, GRI, QEUH NHS GGC; FY 2 QEUH NHS GGC and UHA NHS A&A
The Foundation Programme Director will be responsible for managing a Foundation Programme and the education and training needs of each individual on the programme.
These are new and replacement FPD posts. Preference will be for clinicians based locally to the post, across the West of Scotland. Applications are invited from permanent trained staff (Consultant, GP or SAS doctor) in the West region of Scotland who are currently in substantive NHS or University posts.
Applicants will be expected to have Recognition of Trainer status and will contribute, in partnership with the existing FPDs to the formal Foundation teaching programme.
They are accountable to the Postgraduate Dean or Associate Postgraduate Dean, he or she may also combine the role with that of an educational and/or clinical supervisor.
All applicants must confirm prior to interview that their employer would support a Service Level Agreement for this role within their job plan.
