Applications are invited for a substantive Consultant Cardiac Surgeon. This is an exciting opportunity to join the West of Scotland Heart & Lung Centre, based at Golden Jubilee University National Hospital (GJUNH). The GJUNH is a high volume cardiac centre delivering cardiac surgical services to 2.6 million people in the west of Scotland. In addition to the full range of cardiac services, the GJUNH also hosts the national cardiac transplantation service for Scotland. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable subspecialty interest in aortic surgery and will be expected to play a key role in developing the aortic surgery program at GJUNH.

Additionally, the successful candidate will work alongside a team of cardiac surgeons and electrophysiology cardiologists for lead extraction and device procedures.

The role involves a full range of outpatient and inpatient activities within a broad multidisciplinary team (MDT) network.

The successful applicants should hold full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register or be eligible for admission to the register within 6 months of the interview date.
