Who We Are

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.

The core function of the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions (NMAHP) Directorate is to support the education, training and continuing professional development of nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, health and social care chaplains and their support workers. The Directorate is also responsible for providing education, training and workforce development across wider professional groups and disciplines, often in partnership with other agencies, to support key policy imperatives.


The Opportunity

The Business Support Team provides a broad range of administrative and operational project support to the Practice Education and Pre-registration programme. This programme plans for, maintains and promotes quality across practice learning in health and social care. 
The team supports both the management and development of the digital software systems which ensure regulatory requirements are met, including the quality management system for the practice learning environment, indexing system and electronic practice assessment document which are systems used across health and social care, university settings and by students and staff. Effective management and further development of these systems requires excellent project management skills, knowledge of data governance, and the ability to use data for improvement. Working within the business support Team for NMAHP Practice Education and Pre-registration, we are looking for an Analyst Business Partner to deliver digital business support for staff in NHS Education for Scotland, NMAHP.

What We Love to See

This is a specialist role with a focus on leading the business systems team and supporting the wider Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions team to maintain and progress digital systems. Analyst Business Partners offer a broad range of skills and experience, if you can offer some or all of these, we’d love you to apply:

  • Experience of working with software systems.

  • The ability to identify, address and manage risks, issues and dependencies that will impede the effective delivery of a digital system.

  • Highly effective communicator, knowing how to make complex information and language simple for a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders (both verbally and in writing).

  • Ability to work collaboratively with different teams to provide access to high quality digital systems.

  • Highly experienced in using a variety of technologies and software, including Microsoft 365 applications and other digital systems.

  • Ability to confidently lead and facilitate conversations to understand key requirements.

  • Proven experience of problem solving and being solution focussed

  • Line management experience. You will be required to delegate and monitor business support workload, in partnership with the programme’s Senior Officer.

  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary

  • Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own workloads, to meet strict deadlines
