Who We Are

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.

Within the Dental Directorate there are a number of workstreams. This post is part of the business support shared service and will support the Vocational Training workstream and provide Business Support (BS) to on-site activities at Glasgow Dental Education Centre weekly to meet the business needs


The Opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our highly talented team. Working within the team you will support delivery of the BS and Vocational Training workstreams

We are looking for an individual with working experience gained in face-to-face customer service and ideally in office-based administrative support roles.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting both face-to-face and online delivery of education

As an effective team player, you will possess excellent organisational, communication and digital skills, with a strong focus on flexibility and customer service.

Working within the administrative assistant role will provide the opportunity to gain a wider understanding/working knowledge of the Education & Training services provided across the organisation. The intention is for NES to be able to grow their own operational support teams of the future and this role will be a key part of that journey.

  • Experience of working collaboratively and flexibly within a team, and across other workstreams and departments

  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and confidently at all levels (both verbally and in writing)
  • Proven track record using Microsoft packages (in particular MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Forms) and confidence in learning and using other specialist software (e.g. online booking systems and travel/accommodation systems)
  • Ability to implement, and ensure compliance with company policies & procedures
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary
  • Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own workloads, to meet strict deadlines
