Are you a passionate and experienced Specialty Doctor in Anaesthesia looking to take the next step in your career? We’re excited to invite applications for Specialty Doctors in Anaesthesia to join our dynamic and growing team at one of the largest elective centres in the UK.

As a National Waiting Times Centre, we serve patients from across NHS Scotland. Our Orthopaedics Department is now one of the largest arthroplasty units in Europe, with 2 robots, performing:

Over 6,000 hip and knee replacements annually

600 foot and ankle procedures

420 hand surgeries

Nearly 200 other orthopaedic operations (STK / ACL)

In addition, we carry out more than 1,000 general and colorectal surgeries each year, including major open, laparoscopic, and robotic-assisted procedures.

We’ve recently opened a state-of-the-art Surgical Centre, featuring five new laminar flow theatres, significantly expanding our elective capacity.

As a Specialty Doctor in Anaesthesia, you will:

Provide anaesthesia for orthopaedics and general surgery

Support the Acute Pain Service (APS)

Contribute to the Orthopaedic Pre-operative Assessment Clinic

Opportunity to engage in Quality Improvement and Clinical Audit projects

Gain valuable experience and professional development opportunities to support your career progression in the specialty.
