Work Pattern: Fixed Term, Full Time, 37 hours per week

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Social Care Directorate and contribute to our work to help people working in social care to get the education and skills they need to provide good quality care for people in Scotland.
We are looking for an Administrative Officer to join our talented and growing team as we develop education and training programmes and improve career pathways to equip the social care workforce in Scotland with greater competence, confidence and capability.
In this exciting and varied role as an Administrative Officer, you will collaborate across multiple workstreams and organisations, having a direct impact on the wider workstream in areas of programme support, educational delivery and financial management.
As an Administrative Officer you will:
- Be an enthusiastic and well-motived person.
- Be responsible for providing a full range of administrative support services to the social care directorate.
- Provide administrative support for the training development, research & evaluation of new approaches in the design and delivery of primary and community care for remote, rural and island areas.
- Provide administrative support for engagement with a range of national and international stakeholders
Do you have experience of working with Microsoft 365, creating and reviewing reports?
Do you have experience of providing a high level of administrative support to a senior management team, including preparation of meeting papers and detailed note taking?
Do you have experience in the proficient use of standard office software packages and experience of working at pace in a complex and dynamic environment?

Do you have experience of managing a varied and diverse workload and ensuring the provision of a high quality, comprehensive and timely administration support function.?
Working within the Social Care Directorate you will have the opportunity to bring your unique skills and experience to the table, collaborating across multiple workstreams to support the Directorate to meet the learning and development needs of the social care workforce in Scotland

What We Love to See
As an Administrative Officer you will offer a broad range of skills and experience, if you can offer some or all of these, we’d love you to apply:
- Extensive experience working in the field of business operations, including providing business support to meetings and production of formal minutes/action notes
- Experience of working collaboratively and flexibly within a team, and across other workstreams and departments
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and confidently at all levels (both verbally and in writing)
- Experience of maintaining comprehensive and complex programme documentation in a manner that is accessible
- Confidence in using a variety of Microsoft packages (e.g., Teams, Word, Excel, Office 365, SharePoint) and a willingness to enhance this knowledge
- Ability to proactively identify and communicate improvements to processes and systems
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary
- Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own workloads, to meet strict deadlines
