Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
The NHS Scotland Academy (NHSSA) has been developed to deliver unique workforce learning opportunities on behalf of NHS Scotland. A joint venture between NHS Education for Scotland (NES) and NHS Golden Jubilee (NHS GJ), the NHSS Academy is hosted at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital (GJNH) as part of a hub and spoke national academy model for NHS Scotland.
The National Endoscopy Training Programme (NETP) has been established within the NHSSA to develop an expert endoscopy training faculty and trained and experienced endoscopy workforce to support delivery of JAG standard endoscopy training nationally.
We wish to appoint experienced, JAG approved endoscopy trainers to a national faculty of endoscopy trainers. These trainers will contribute to the delivery of an expanding number of basic and advanced endoscopy training courses and immersion training sessions in Scotland and be expected to engage in the delivery of high-quality endoscopy training locally.
Successful candidates will be appointed to a 0.5 or 1 PA (2 - 4 hours) per week annualised contract to allow them to contribute flexibly to the training programme. This is likely to take the form of a secondment from or in addition to a clinical appointment. The clinical duties will be delivered across the regional endoscopy training centres, local endoscopy units, and the NHS Academy Hub.

Working within the National Endoscopy Training Programme (NETP) which is based within the NHS Scotland Academy. The training hub is hosted at NHS Golden Jubilee (NHS GJ) with regional training centres expanding as JAG accreditation is achieved.
