AfC Band 6 (pro rata) plus a High Secure Environmental Allowance of £1,591.56 per annum (pro rata) and a High Secure Clinical Responsibility Allowance of £3,819.96 per annum (pro rata).

37.5 Hours

Contract Duration – 6 month Secondment

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse (Mental Health or Learning Disability) to join our innovative and dynamic nursing management team here at The State Hospital. 

As a Charge Nurse you will be responsible for leading our ward-based nursing colleagues to deliver the highest standards of person-centred care and will act as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.

You should be a hardworking and conscientious individual who is committed to delivering high quality nursing care in line with professional standards. You should have excellent communication and team working skills and show an ability to be flexible, forward-thinking and able to work autonomously.

You must be able to work under pressure and demonstrate the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. Previous management experience is advantageous however training will be provided.

You will work with Senior Charge Nurses and other Charge Nurse colleagues to ensure high standards of patient care whilst supporting service development through engaging in activities such as Clinical Supervision and Reflective Practice.  

You should be able to demonstrate evidence of Leadership and Continuing Professional Development (e.g. ILM, Project Lift and QI training).
