Training Programme Director for General Adult Psychiatry

North of Scotland Region

Hours: 0.5 PA’s (2 hours per week)

Duration: 36 months*

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.

The Training Programme Director for General Adult Psychiatry (North Region) will be responsible for managing specialty training programmes for doctors holding the following appointments: specialty registrar (StR); and locum appointments for training (LATs).

The TPD should be a Consultant and is accountable to the Lead Dean/Director for Mental Health or appropriate Associate Dean.  They may also combine the role with that of an educational and/or clinical supervisor.


The post is available for 3 years in the first instance.
