Job Advert

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a permanent, fulltime post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Sunday. The successful candidate is required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service that runs over a 5 day week.

This is an exciting opportunity where we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Health Care Support Worker to join our team within the Day Surgery unit. This unit consists of two theatres, a ward area and a recovery room.

As part of the multidisciplinary team, the Post Holder will provide care to patients before, during and after surgical procedures in support of the trained nurse. You will be required to perform physical, technical and emotional aspects of patient care in an efficient, effective and responsible manner, in a busy acute environment. Previous experience of working within a hospital environment is an advantage, however not essential as training and support will be given.

We offer a professional development programme and excellent team support.

Furthermore, the successful candidate may be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.
