The shift pattern for this post are Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 1700, Friday 08:00 – 14:30

The Day surgery Unit (DSU) at the New Victoria ACH have an opportunity for a Band 2 Porter to work with our amazing team. This post is covered through Monday to Friday, however this is subject to change.

This is a busy Day surgery unit consisting of 8 theatres covering a range of specialities, a 48 bed admission and discharge unit and a 12 bed 23 hour stay ward. The successful candidate will be hard working and reliable as this is an expanding unit. The ability to manage tasks independently is essential. Previous experience desirable but not essential. Instruction/training where necessary will be provided.

Daily duties to include aiding the flow of patients in theatre by proving trolleys before surgery, changing cylinders, stocking linen trolleys, emptying bins, tidying, putting stock away, transporting specimens to the labs, taking orders to pharmacy and any other task that might be assigned to you by the senior team.

This is a physical role that includes manual handling duties and extended periods of time on your feet.

There may be an expectation for cross site working across the south sector.
