The role:
Due to service expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Bone Marrow Transplant Team in Glasgow's QEUH.
We are the National Service for Allogenic Haemopoietic Stem Cell Transplants in Scotland. We serve patients from all 14 Health boards with a population of almost 5.3 million people. Referrals are made by local Haematologists or Oncologists who believe their patient may benefit from a Bone Marrow Transplant. We also offer different types of transplant: Autologous, CORD, Haplo-Identical along with CAR-T therapies
Previous Haem / Oncology experience would be desirable but not essential. We have a robust induction and education pathway for all staff who will be fully supported with a precetor. We have a designated Clinical Nurse Educator on the ward to facilitate and support all staff.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- We are seeking a Health care support worker to work within Older People and Stroke services within the Vale of Leven Hospital to join our dynamic team focused on serving the healthcare needs of older people
- The shift pattern for this post is between Monday to Sunday
Key responsibilities:
Assist patients with activities of daily living.
Assist the Registered Nurse and, where appropriate, other members of the Clinical Team to deliver patient care.
Co-operate with and maintain good relationships with other disciplines that are attending and treating clients to maximise patient care.
Maintain good relationships and an empathic approach to clients’ carers and relatives and refer them to a trained nurse for any questions they may have on the clients’ condition or for any suggestions or complaints that they wish to raise.
Report observed changes in the clients’ physical/psychological needs and participate in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records to ensure effective communication.
Work within Divisional policies and procedures to ensure maintenance of safe working practices for patients and colleagues.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Caring disposition preferably with experience working in a caring environment/role.
Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Effective written and verbal communication skills/literacy/numeracy skills.
Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
Ability to fulfil the requirement of the job description including undertaking NiCHE programme.

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
