Senior Cyber Security Analyst
About the Organisation:
As a vital part of NHS Scotland, NHS National Services Scotland’s purpose is to support Scotland’s Health. We do this by providing a range of specialised support services which we develop and improve in partnership with our many stakeholders. These include NHS Boards, Scottish Government and other public sector organisations.
The Post:
We now have exciting opportunities to join the National Security Operations Team and work with us on building and operating the National Cyber Security Operations Centre. You’ll help us detect, triage and respond to security threats using multiple tools like:
- Microsoft security technologies including Microsoft 365 Defender suite and Sentinel
- Security Information Event Management (SIEM) systems
- Vulnerability Management and Scanning tools
- Threat Intelligence platforms
- Incident Response platforms
You’ll also lead on incident handling and communications working with key stakeholders both within NHS Scotland and externally such as other NHS CSOCs in the UK nations, Local Authorities, Scottish Government and NCSC. You’ll use your experience to provide subject matter expertise advise, direction and leadership to all SBU Directors and their teams.
The Candidate:
You should be educated to degree level or have demonstrable experience in the field of security operations with evidence of continuing professional development.
All of our Cyber Security personnel must hold security clearance SC level as a minimum. To meet National Security Vetting requirements, you must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years for SC clearance. Candidates who were posted abroad for service with HM Government, Armed Forces or within a UK government role - will still be considered.
Please make sure you meet these requirements before applying for this role. You don’t need to have SC already, however, failure to achieve the requirements for SC after offer, will result in the job offer being withdrawn.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Location and Working Pattern:
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
