You will work alongside the Highly Specialist Clinical Pharmacist, in addition to another Specialist Clinical Pharmacist for IBD and a team secretary.  You will also work closely with Consultant Gastroenterologists and IBD Clinical Nurse Specialists to provide pharmaceutical care to patients within NHS Lanarkshire wards, clinics and day units. The post holder will become an integrated member of the consultant-led multidisciplinary team and liaise closely with the Homecare and Aseptic Pharmacy Teams to ensure patients access their IBD medicines in a safe and timely manner. As such, holding a pharmacist independent prescribing qualification or the ability to work towards this is essential for this post.  The post holder will contribute to the medicines, finance and clinical governance agenda and associated systems for medicine use within the gastroenterology service.  This will include developing and reviewing clinical protocols as well as undertaking quality and service improvement initiatives.
