The Role
As part of a Test of Concept we are offering a secondment until 31/03/2023 working within the 3 ACCs or one of our remote clinical hubs being set up in Aberdeen and Ayr.
You will work as part of the Ambulance Control Centre (ACC) Clinical Hub supporting our multi-disciplinary clinicians who provide emergency care to patients at Scottish Ambulance Service through remote consultation using telephone and video triage.
You will primarily be responsible for assessing which patients are clinically suitable for transport by our non-scheduled care service. Safety netting wating patients who have already had a primary triage by one of our Clinicians by contacting patients and hospitals to ensure no deterioration has occurred, provide reassurance and advice for patients and to facilitate alternative transport if appropriate.
By acting as a vital link to the Clinicians within the ACC you will also support the wider ACC through supporting Dispatch and Call taking processes. In addition, you will provide information to the wider health communities of Scotland for example GPs / Hospitals and other NHS organisations through the management of patient related enquiries or care planning
You will liaise with other healthcare providers to ensure that safe and effective pathways of care exist to meet the needs of special patient groups and patients with complex care pathways.
The Person
You should have demonstrable patient care experience, with previous experience in an operational setting. With relevant qualifications for your scope of practise
You should also be computer literate with good keyboard skills.
Selection process: This comprises of various stages, all of which the candidate must be successful in to enable progression to the next aspect.
Typing test, Maths and clinical scenarios and competency-based interview. Further details will be provided in advance.
