National Services Scotland (NSS), Estates & Facilities Department are pleased to inform of an exciting opportunity to appoint a Sustainability Manager on a Permanent basis.  

The post: 
The candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and support across NSS on all sustainable development matters while promoting continuous improvement in NSS’s overall performance on sustainable development, environmental management and good corporate citizenship, and lead and co-ordinate effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting through the National Sustainability Assessment Tool (NSAT) and the Environmental Management Systems.

The candidate will also ensure ongoing organisational focus on compliance with mandatory, legislative and regulatory requirements, the delivery of sound environmental performance and the effective control and minimisation of any impact NSS activities, products and services may have on the environment.  

This role requires a credible, accomplished individual who is able to engage, inspire and motivate staff.  They should be able to demonstrate an excellent track record of strategic decision making and be able to rapidly develop effective stakeholder relationships. 

The candidate will be expected to contribute to the short and long term strategic planning and provision of NSS route map to Net Zero
