Location: NHS Borders - West Team area - Peebles, Galashiels, Melrose, Lauder and Earlston area
Post: Band 7 Specialist School Nurse – up to full-time (fixed term for 9 month’s maternity cover)
This successful candidate will hold the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – School Nurse qualification and ideally have up to date experience of working in a School Nursing role. As a SCPHN School Nurse within the School Nursing Team, the successful candidate will have a work base within the areas detailed and we have a hybrid model of working from office and home when appropriate. You will work closely with the multi-professional team including, AHPS, Paediatric Department, Education, Social Work, CAMHS and third sector partners. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and autonomously will be imperative to being successful in the role. There are clear lines of reporting into the management structure and support from experienced SCPHN’s and School Nurses to aid your development. You must have excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritise referrals, as well as the ability to take and act on advice and guidance from senior/more experienced Staff.
