We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to take forward Public Health Improvement work based in the Dumfries North Home Team, covering the Nithsdale area.
Your role will be to work with young people, families and adults in relation to Healthy Weight, as part of the Healthy Child Service, and support them to meet their needs in relation to keeping well and living happy active lives. You will be part of the regionwide Public Health workforce and the post will be managed within a local Health & Social Care Home Team, who are responsible for delivering Health & Social Care outcomes and addressing health inequalities.
The post holder must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and have the ability to motivate and empower others. You will be working closely with other professionals including Dietitians, Schools, Health Visitors and General Practice to ensure the delivery of an accessible and inclusive service that takes a person-centred approach whilst addressing health inequalities. Part of your role will be working with people on a 1-1 basis with young people and families in the community but you will also be responsible for developing projects and initiatives in relation to the needs of local people.
Post is fixed term (or secondment) for 23 months
