This is an exciting opportunity to join the pharmacy team in providing accurate and timely distribution of pharmaceuticals across NHS Borders. ATOs are the entry posts into the pharmacy career ladder with many going on to study a pharmacy qualification to become registered technicians.
ATOs assist with the ordering, receipt, storage and issue of pharmaceutical products in line with departmental procedures. Duties include, dispensing of medicines to patients, maintaining ward stock levels, working alongside pharmacy technicians in our Aseptic Unit and vaccination team.
Applicants must have Standard grade level 3, Nat 5 (or equivalent) in English, Mathematics and a Science (Biology and/or Chemistry) and have a commitment to achieving S/NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services or recognised equivalent qualification, or units appropriate for the job role.
Applicants should be able to cope in a busy environment, have good interpersonal, organisational and competent communication and keyboard skills.
