An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our South Glasgow Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team (part of the wider GGC Specialist Children’s Services Occupational Therapy Service) A year’s post graduate experience is desirable as is experience of working with children and young people but not essential as this post provides an excellent opportunity to develop these skills in a supportive environment. You will be working in a small but well established and highly innovative community based team, providing assessment and intervention for children and young people aged 0-18 years as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team, liaising with colleagues in education, social work and the 3rd sector to support the children, young people and their families. You will be based in the Gorbals Health & Care Centre but will provide support to children with neurodevelopmental disorder, neurodisability and physical disability in their homes, schools & nurseries.
You are required to be HCPC registered. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and enjoys being part of an enthusiastic team. You must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills when working with children, young people and their carers. You require to have good IT skills, and have experience in the use of digital for both delivering and recording care. The service covers a wide geographic area and the post holder should have a driving licence.
