VACANCY: IMPROVEMENT ADVISOR (Assurance)
GRADE: Band 7
HOURS: 37.5 hrs/week (part-time working near to full-time hours considered).
BASE: Waverley Gate / required to travel between sites
CONTRACT: Permanent
We are seeking a motivated individual with a passion for improving the quality of patient care within NHS Lothian.
The focus of this post is to improve and strengthen reliability of systems and processes to manage and learn from Adverse Events.
The post holder will work with management teams across the organisation, using quality improvement methodology to:
- Improve processes and quality of adverse event reviews
- Establish and embed effective assurance processes, utilising measurement frameworks
- Develop methodology to theme learning from adverse event reviews to inform improvements
- Provide training and coaching to individuals and teams to support improvement
Applicants must have expertise and experience in the management and review of adverse events, with proven experience in leading and supporting quality assurance activities.
Experience / formal qualification in quality improvement skills is also required.
Applicants will have expertise in change management in the context of quality improvement and the ability to lead a team, engage, motivate, challenge and influence others to achieve change. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential to the role.
The successful candidate must also have an ability to analyse and present data, using and developing data templates, using Microsoft excel and MS Word to produce reports.
The successful candidate must have well developed interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively and appropriately with staff at all levels within and out with the organisation. A flexible approach to work and an ability to work well within teams is also essential.
