An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Cardiac Cath Lab team.  This is an excellent learning opportunity for a highly motivated nurse with experience in the acute hospital setting.  The job includes rotation between our Cardiac Cath Lab, where you will be assisting with cardiac procedures and be part of the on-call Cath Lab team, our inpatient ward and outpatient day area in which you will be caring for patients pre and post-procedure, and our nurse-led pre-assessment clinic.  We have an excellent in-house education programme to support ongoing development in this area.  Shift pattern is days and nights Mon-Fri with added on-call commitment.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will have responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients.

The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision.  The post holder may be required to demonstrate procedures to and supervise registered and/or unregistered s and as student nurses.

The post holder will direct, coordinate and supervise, where appropriate, the work of other staff within the ward or department to promote best practices in relation to patient care.

In the absence of the senior charge nurse/team leader, or deputy, the post holder will provide cover to ensure the effective operation of the ward /department.
