The Fife Area-Wide Psychology Service is a large multi-specialty service, with extensive involvement in training, research and service development. The service has close links with Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee and St. Andrews Universities’ D. Clin. Psych and MSc courses. Professional development, CPD and service-based research activity is well supported.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the forensic LD psychologists, both within the core learning disability psychology service across Fife and the specialist LD MCN regional low secure inpatient services. The forensic team includes Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Nursing and AHP’s. Clinical Psychology staff in LD are line managed within the Psychology Service, but you will work collaboratively with MDT colleagues in forensic LD. The postholder will have a clinical role across Fife.
You will provide expert psychological assessment (particular risk assessment and management) and interventions for adults with a wide range of complex psychological problems; specialist advice and supervision to colleagues; and take a lead in service development and evaluation.
The post holder will contribute to the development of the Fife-wide Learning Disability Psychology Services, working with Consultant Clinical Psychologist colleagues, mental health colleagues, education services and other stakeholders.
You will also take an active part in the Area Psychology Service seeking opportunities for professional development and contributing to that of others.
The post would be based at Lynebank Hospital, Dunfermline
