The SIBPS team was established with the support of funding from the Scottish Government in May 2021 to provide a valuable and important service to people who contracted Hepatitis C and/or HIV from blood or blood products given during historical medical procedures in Scotland. The service also supports family members of those affected.  Although the post is based at the Astley Ainslie Hospital in Edinburgh, patients from all over Scotland, as well as those who now live elsewhere in the UK, or abroad, can self-refer to the service.
