We are looking to recruit a full time Pharmacy Technician based at University Hospital Monklands.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical, technical and training skills.
When undertaking the clinical pharmacy/dispensary role you will be based within the ward environment and also in the dispensary, providing the full range of pharmaceutical services. You will work as part of the clinical pharmacy team in identifying discrepancies in medication histories and other pharmaceutical issues; contributing to the pharmaceutical care of patients, and assisting the clinical pharmacist in the relevant specialty.
As part of the HEPMA/PSC team you will support the effective management, maintenance and development of the pharmacy stock control (PSC) system across the acute Pharmacy service and the Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (HEPMA) system across all NHS Lanarkshire hospital sites; ensuring effective use of the software & IT equipment to positively contribute to patient safety.
You will provide training in the use of PSC/HEPMA applications for medical, nursing, AHP and pharmacy staff across NHS Lanarkshire as required and promote good practice in the use of these systems.
This is a split role. 50% will be contributing to the hospital clinical pharmacy team/dispensary team and 50% will be working in the HEPMA/PSC team (usually as 4 monthly rotations).
Participation in HEPMA on call rota is part of the role.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
- National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
- SVQ Level III
- Registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Dispensary checking qualification.
- Commitment to CPD as per GPhC recommendations
