The Royal Hospital for Children, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, are delighted to advertise for a permanent post within the Theatre Recovery department.  The post is for 37.5 hours per week and the successful candidate would be expected to cover a variety of shifts including early, late and weekends.  The recovery area serves the suite of 11 theatres, encompassing such specialties as: neurology, maxillofacial, plastics, orthopaedics, ENT, urology, General, ophthalmology and cardiac, and some patients may have complex conditions requiring specialist equipment and interventions.  Our recovery team are skilled practitioners in caring for the needs of the unconscious patient and have a robust competency package for all those new to the environment, to aid in the support of developing skills.  The ideal candidate would have skills and knowledge related to the care and assessment of the unconscious patient but would be supported to achieve the required level of competence.  The post might appeal to someone who is considering a role in theatres/recovery or paediatrics or also to newly qualified practitioner, looking to consolidate skills and experience learned throughout their programmes of registration.  The post holder must have an up to date registration either with the NMC (for nurses) or the HCPC (for ODPs), ideally with a paediatric qualification, and a desire to learn new skills and knowledge.
