Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term (12 month), full time (37.50 hours, 9 sessions), although may consider smaller contract, based in Bonnyrigg Primary Care Centre.


This is an exciting opportunity to join and develop Primary Care in an ambitious and collaborative Health and Social Care Partnership.


We are looking for dynamic and skilled clinician(s) to join us in delivering high quality safe and effective patient care. You will have the opportunity to work and gain valuable clinical experience across a range of local practices and have protected time for supported personal professional development to advance your career and professional skills. Newly qualified ‘First 5’ GPs are welcome and encouraged to apply.


This is a new post which will combine 8 sessions of clinical time to support the provision of routine and unscheduled GMS medical services in GP practices across Midlothian, as part of the Primary Care multi-disciplinary team. Practice placements will be allocated according to local need.


The post-holder will also have dedicated professional development time (1 session per week, pro rata) for Leadership development, Quality Improvement, or other professional opportunities (to be agreed with the Clinical Director), as well as the opportunity to participate in professional coaching sessions and spend time with the HSCP GP Management Team to gain essential skills and experience clinical leadership of complex change.


You should be a forward-thinking ambitious practitioner, who has the potential and desire to bring about change through the development and improvement of local services. You must have had previous experience of working autonomously in primary care and have excellent communication and organizational skills. You must be a team player and be willing to support and supervise multidisciplinary colleagues.
