If so, we are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 Charge Nurse to join our Pre-operative assessment team in South Glasgow The Pre-operative assessment CN is responsible for overseeing the preoperative assessment nursing team on one of 4 South sector sites (QEUH, GGH, WACH , VACH) to deliver effective assessment, investigation, patient education and preparation for surgery. This busy service provides assessment for a range of surgical specialities including Orthopaedics, general surgery, Breast surgery and Urology. The SCN liaises closely with members of the anaesthetic and surgical teams to ensure patients are fit for planned surgery. The post holder will exercise advanced clinical knowledge and skills to deliver an efficient, patient focussed service and provide pre-operative anaesthetic assessment. You will be responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse and should be able to work on your own merit and provide support to the nursing team. You should hold current registration with the NMC and be educated to degree level or equivalent. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in a surgical specialty. A recognised qualification in advanced practice including clinical examination is essential. Applicants currently studying towards advanced practice may apply under Annexe 21. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland’s PVG scheme. You will be working 5 days Monday to Friday.
