Macmillan Improving Cancer Journey Programme Manager
Pan Island Project (Orkney, Shetland, Western Isles)
Band 7 £40,872 - £47,849 per annum
Plus Distant Island Allowance per annum
37 Hours per week
Fixed Term Contract for 42 months
This is a new and exciting opportunity for someone with project management experience to lead on our Improving Cancer Journey project across Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles.
The post holder will lead on transforming how people affected by cancer are supported in the community across Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles and developing the project to include those affected with long term conditions.
The post holder will be responsible for the management of the programme for the Orkney IJB, Shetland IJB and the Western Isles IJB. The post will be hosted by NHS Western Isles and responsible to the Chief Officers of the 3 island boards reporting through a Pan Island programme board.
They will lead on the development of the programme strategy in consultation with the programme board, providing the leadership to identify and develop approaches to deliver major change initiatives and promote service improvements across the island groups which deliver improvement outcomes, key strategic improvement priorities, and meet the goals of improving the cancer journey.
Please note this is a fixed term post for 3 years 6 months.
Location of this post is open for negotiation, by mutual agreement. There is an expectation that there will be travel to the island groups with expenses being paid from regional airports or ferry ports.
The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
