Assistant Programme Manager

The Post:
The National Specialist and Screening Directorate (NSD) plans, funds and co-ordinates national specialist and screening services, national clinical, diagnostic and justice networks and national planning on behalf of NHS Boards and the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates. It facilitates service change across NHS Scotland to ensure consistent, equitable provision of high quality, safe, effective, person centred services to meet the needs of the population of Scotland.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Programme Manager based in Edinburgh or Glasgow. This is a permanent post and will be joining the Review Team in the Quality & Performance Theme of NSD.
This is a dynamic, interesting and challenging post, working across the teams in the directorate to provide quality and performance overview by completing reviews of commissioned services This requires excellent written, data and information analysis, critical thinking and objective judgement skills . You will have an understanding of customer/user dynamics and requirements gained through work experience.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have experience of implementing tools and methodologies of undertaking reviews, assurance, assessment or evaluation as well as knowledge of quality improvement methodologies. Ability to research, summarise and interpreting complex information into concise and easily understood formats and presenting to a range of internal and external audiences and interest groups. They will be a highly motivated individual who has excellent organisational, IT and communication skills, is able to work to deadlines and prioritise a busy workload.
Location and Working Pattern:
Glasgow or Edinburgh.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
