Job Advert

This is a full-time permanent post. The shift pattern for this post is 5/7, including weekend working.

East Dunbartonshire introduced the District Nurse Advanced Nurse Practitioner role in February 2021 as part of the transforming nursing roles agenda.  This post has demonstrated immediate benefits including improved outcomes for patients, improved joint working across health and care teams in the locality, clinical leadership and support for the DN teams and a reduction in unnecessary admissions to hospital.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand this service by recruiting a DN ANP or a Trainee DN ANP to join our Adult Community Nursing service.

The post holder:

  • will work at an advanced level of clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment and will have accountability for highly complex patients.
  • will support and lead the development of multi-disciplinary locality based working, provide clinical leadership and support to District Nursing colleagues and promote an anticipatory and person centered approach to support patients to achieve their preferred place of care.

As this role will provide support and deliver supervision to District Nurses who are undertaking, or have recently completed, advanced clinical assessment skills or V300 prescribing it is essential that you have a Specialist Practitioner Qualification in District Nursing and hold an appropriate Masters level qualification in Advanced Practice (or working towards).
