Public Health Lead – Mental Health Improvement & Suicide Prevention (Adults) and Wellbeing Service Lead
We have an opportunity to join the senior management team in NHS Borders Public Health Department. Reporting to the Head of Health Improvement/Strategic Lead Alcohol and Drugs Partnership the post holder leads the Mental Health Improvement and Suicide Prevention Steering Group and development and delivery of our local action plan.
This role is also responsible for the operational management and development of the Wellbeing Service. The Wellbeing Service provides evidence based, early interventions to support lifestyle change to increase physical activity, reduce weight and eat healthily, quit smoking and improve emotional wellbeing.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain partnerships across the statutory and voluntary sectors to plan cohesively for health improvement at a national and local level.
You will have responsibility for leading, managing and developing staff teams in the Joint Health Improvement Team and Wellbeing Service.
The post will act as a key link between Public Health and NHS, local authority services and third sector services and will be expected to build health improvement capacity in these services.
