An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Child Health Manager (Health Visiting/Getting it Right for Every Child) for the Mid Argyll, Kintyre & Islay and Oban, Lorn and Isles (West Argyll) Children and Families Health Teams.

The post sits within the Children and Families Team under the direction of the Senior Child Health Manager and will be based within Argyll and Bute HSCP, location to be agreed.

The Child Health Manager (West) will have management responsibility for the Child Health Teams in West Argyll, comprising Lochgilphead, Campbeltown, Islay and Oban, Lorn and the Isles for health services delivered to children and families. This includes professional, statutory, regulatory and budgetary responsibilities. You will have responsibility for health visitors; specialist paediatric nurses (CCNs), staff nurses, nursery nurses, support workers and admin staff.

The post holder, along with the Senior Child Health Manager, Child Health Manager (East) and Child Health Manager (Schools) will be responsible for directing and supporting the achievement of local and national priorities and targets.

Teams are multi-disciplinary and require robust management by someone with an understanding of the strengths and pressures of team working. This includes, taking responsibility with the other Child Health Managers, to identify, develop and deliver appropriate services for children and families.

It is essential that you are educated to degree level with an ability to demonstrate evidence of leadership experience. You require to be a Registered Nurse with the NMC and have a post registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing with evidence of continuing professional development.
