This is a temporary post of 2 years with the possibility of becoming permanent.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (7.5 per day)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Development Officer to join our East Dunbartonshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership.

The post holder will support the East Dunbartonshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP) with the development and implementation of the ADP Strategy and Delivery Plan. The post holder will also support the work streams and initiatives that enhance and develop East Dunbartonshire’s recovery orientated systems of care (ROSC), the implementation of the Medication Assisted Treatment Standards (MAT) and the work of the National Mission priorities. The hours of this post will be worked across core office hours Monday to Friday.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

  • The post holder should be educated to degree level, or equivalent relevant experience of working at that level as well as demonstrable working experience within a health and social care environment at a strategic level. 
  • They will have a demonstrated track record of leading on projects, partnership working, service development and planning.  A high level of communication skills both verbal and written is required, in addition to strong leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate others.
  • Specialist knowledge of alcohol and drug issues, gained either through experience or post-graduate study is desirable, although emphasis is placed on knowledge and expertise across a number of subject areas, e.g. clinical, monitoring and evaluation, finance etc.

Additional Skills

  • Planning & Organisation: The post holder is required to contribute to the formulation of long-term strategic plans, often involving financial uncertainty and which may impact across a range of ADP partner organisations. ​​​​​​​
