​​​​​​​This is a full-time post offered on a fixed contract for 2 years. ​​​​​​​

The Glasgow Clinical Research Facility incorporates Clinical Research Facilities across GG&C. Jointly they provide a streamlined service to investigators to conduct their clinical research efficiently and safely. We are recruiting an enthusiastic Paediatric Research Nurse to assist us in providing high quality nursing care for children participating in Clinical Research at QEUH and RHC.

The post holder:

  • will be trained and supported to coordinate the recruitment, treatment, education, monitoring and follow up of research participants and the collection and documentation of accurate study data.
  • will work collaboratively with Senior Research Nurses, Principal and Chief Investigators and the wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of research patients.
  • will be a First Level Registered Paediatric Nurse with relevant clinical experience and educated to (or working towards) as degree level. Research experience is desirable although transferable skills can be demonstrated.
  • will be trained to work to research principles including confidentiality, randomisation procedures, informed consent and ethical issues, and an understanding of research within the context of Good Clinical Practice. Attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, good IT skills and a methodical approach are key requirements, along with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

The Clinical Research Facility has research nurse cover from 0800-1700 Monday to Friday; predominantly the hours are 0830-1630 but there is a requirement to take a flexible approach in order to meet the needs of research studies, with a requirement to work unsocial hours and weekends as necessary. 

Minimal Requirements: 
•    Registered Paediatric Nurse, educated to degree level (or working towards) 
•    Significant, current and relevant clinical experience 
•    Evidence of continuing professional development. 

Desirable:
•    Experience of working in research, or relevant transferable skills 
•    Knowledge of current research regulations and governance requirements
