The Opportunity

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is looking to appoint a new Occupational Health and Safety Manager who will drive forward our Staff Health and Wellbeing Strategy and lead the delivery of a clinically led Occupational Health service for the largest NHS Board in Scotland. Role Responsibility

Responsible for the strategic and operational management of a clinical led Occupational Health service the post holder will, at the same time, provide professional advice to our clinical teams and influence both national and local policy and practice.

Reporting directly to the Board’s Director of Human Resource and Organisational Development, the post holder will lead and be accountable for performance across a large and wide range of programmes of work supporting staff health and wellbeing. The post holder will also support Infection Control and Health and Safety around any staff related advice.

Accountable for the development and delivery of the Staff Health and Wellbeing Strategy with clear outcomes including the roll out of Peer Support across the Board and enhancing mental health support through psychological services.

As a key member of an already established and forwarding thinking Human Resources Senior Management Team, the successful candidate will be expected to lead on the occupational health and safety components of our ambitious Workforce Strategy.  

As the clinical expert and key authority on occupational health advice there is an important role to play providing expertise, advice and support to the Board’s Corporate Management Team in areas of national policies and guidelines, advising on the implementation of these within the Board.  

We are looking to appoint an exceptional individual

Our ideal candidate will come with significant leadership experience and preferably come from a nursing leadership background. Educated to Masters’ degree level or Degree (or equivalent experience) it is essential that the post holder will be a current registered nurse with current UK Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) registration.
