Applications are invited for a suitable person to join our Team based at University Hospital Crosshouse.  The Oral Facial Laboratory serves the patient population of NHS Ayrshire & Arran providing clinical, technical and advisory services to the Orthodontic, Oral & Maxillofacial, Restorative, Ophthalmology and Ear, Nose & Throat specialities.

You will work as a Dental Technician for a multi-disciplinary Team and will be required to be involved in a range of dental technology manufacturing processes.

Key elements of the post will be the undertaking of laboratory plaster room duties, incorporating high quality model production and articulation; training of basic dental appliance construction; equipment maintenance; and data retrieval from laboratory electronic and paper based systems.  Educated to higher grade level and effective communication skills combined with good manual dexterity skills are also a pre-requisite for the post.

All shortlisted applicants will be required to sit a manual dexterity skills test plus interview.

Professional Qualifications:

Educated to Degree in Dental Sciences or equivalent

Relevant experience:

Previous experience incorporating the use of excellent manual dexterity skills in Orthodontics and Restorative dentistry.

It would be desirable to have experience working within a team in a healthcare environment but not essential.
