We are looking to recruit a Permanent, full time Family Nurse based at Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters.
The postholder is responsible for delivering the Family Nurse Partnership licensed programme (FNP) intensive home visiting programme to (max 25) vulnerable first time teenage women who are expecting their first baby. The postholder is required to be the lead in developing therapeutic relationships with clients and work intensively within complex family situations from early pregnancy until the child reaches 2 years when the programme is completed, whilst also ensuring fidelity to the programme’s licensing requirements. As part of the licensing requirements The FNP Team is also supported by a Consultant Psychologist and Data Manager/Administrator.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
- First level registered nurse or midwife with current NMC registration.
- Professional knowledge acquired at diploma/degree level underpinning further specialist education and training such as Public Health Nursing/Health Visiting.
- Masters degree relevant to the role such as Nursing and Health Studies, Psychology or demonstration of a range of skills commensurate with masters level. These could include Practice Educator role, specialist role in supporting looked after children and parenting support roles.
- Successfully complete the mandatory FNP core education and training programme, delivered to Masters level.
The interview process is in two parts and both the panel and client interviews for Family Nurse Posts.
The successful applicant requires to be available to attend all mandatory dates below, for FNP Education, over an 18-month period. Education is facilitated using a hybrid model of online and face to face education, some of which is residential.
6th – 10th March 2023 – Pre foundations learning and SQA induction. At site and online.
13th-17th March 2023 – Foundations in FNP practice. 5 days/4 nights Residential
1st May 2023 – MI intermediate in FNP practice. Non residential
30th and 31st May 2023 – MI advanced in FNP practice. 2 days/1night residential.
22nd August 2023 – Breastfeeding Support in FNP practice. Non residential
3rd - 5th October 2023 – Next steps. 2 days / 1 night residential. 1 day online
14th – 15th November 2023 PIPE in FNP practice. 2 days / 1 night residential
April/May 2024 – DANCE in FNP practice
19th September 2024– Introduction to flourishing in FNP practice. Online
25th – 26th October 2024 – Flourishing in FNP practice 2 days / 1 night residential
The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday
