Are you passionate about improving safety and quality of care for the people of Scotland? The Chief Inspector is a key senior leadership role within the Quality Assurance Directorate at Healthcare Improvement Scotland that will provide strategic direction to a range of high profile national inspection and regulatory activities, ensuring independent robust and proportionate external quality assurance in order to secure measurable improvements in the quality of health and social care in Scotland.
The post-holder will lead and direct inspections of NHS services in Scotland to assure the safety and quality of care, as well as ensure effective regulation and inspection of independent healthcare services. The post holder will also provide strategic leaderships for a range of joint inspections activities, ensuring close collaboration and effective partnership working with other inspection and assurance bodies.
To excel in this role, your extensive knowledge of delivering high quality and rigorous quality assurance will have been honed in a health and social care, or similar complex environment. You will be a registered healthcare professional with significant experience of working in a senior clinical management role, who is used to providing authorative advice, guidance and constructive challenge to improve local and national service provision. As a credible leader and natural communicator, you will be able to work constructively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and be used to managing complex relationships, competing priorities and opposing views, while demonstrating a strong values base and focus on the quality of care for patients and service users.
