An opportunity has arisen for a Specialty Doctor to be part of a well developed and progressive service for adults with a learning disability within Fife.

The post is a 10 session post, based at Lynebank Hospital, Dunfermline and consists of:

  • 3 sessions working with the East Fife Community Learning Disability Team (NE Fife area)
  • 3 sessions with the male LD low secure forensic service (Daleview) at Lynebank Hospital in Dunfermline
  • 3 sessions with the Fife LD Epilepsy service (2 sessions clinical and 1 session for the Specialty Doctor to enhance their epilepsy knowledge and skills)
  • 1 Session for Supporting Professional Activities

Overview:

  • Contribution to the psychiatric and physical management of inpatients at Daleview ward.
  • Contribution to the psychiatric management of community patients for the East Fife Community Learning Disability team.
  • Contribution to the management of patients with epilepsy and learning disability in the East Fife.
  • Contribution to the psychiatric management of patients with a learning disability in other wards or in the community as arranged or when necessary.
  • Providing cover for emergency psychiatric assessments for people with a learning disability when necessary.
  • Support for the Consultant and participation in the procedures associated with Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act (2003), Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act (2000), and any other relevant procedures.
