The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, and have responsibility for the day to day management and leadership of bed management services including supervision and development of junior staff. To provide clinical leadership related to effective bed management, including the delegation of key tasks and development of staff. You will support the effective placement of patients within the appropriate speciality. You will provide support and guidance to staff in relation to sign posting to specialist provision to assist in discharge planning processes. The post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and / or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the patient’s journey through the hospital delivers the required care. The post holder will contribute towards service developments and innovations within the service.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
- Registered Nurse with at least 5 years post-registration experience, 2 of which were within the speciality
- Educated to/working towards/operating at degree level*
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post-graduate qualification
- The post holder will possess excellent team working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using their own initiative
- Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective time management skills
