This Role: Deputy Head of Information Governance and Security/Deputy Data Protection Officer

NHS 24 is at an exciting time of transformation and is looking to recruit a Senior Manager as Deputy Head of Information Governance and Security/Deputy Data Protection Officer, who has the creativity, experience, skills, energy and commitment to lead, drive forward and play a central role in the development, leadership and delivery of Information Governance within NHS 24. Most importantly the post holder will be expected to ensure services are delivered to a high standard, making the best use of available resources to ensure that patients receive the best possible evidence-based care, treatment and interventions.

Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and processes related to Information Governance, Freedom of Information and Records Management for all systems across NHS 24.  Ensuring that NHS 24 maintains its compliance with the relevant information legislation such as the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR, Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and the Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011.

This role will provide leadership and guidance for information governance and continuous improvement to this function and to information governance across NHS 24 to support the delivery of the 24-hour services from NHS 24 as part of NHS Scotland.

As the Deputy Head of Information Governance and Security/Deputy DPO you will be dynamic, enthusiastic and approachable.  A demonstrable track record of success in a senior manager position within a complex health care environment is essential.
