We have two exciting opportunities to join our team as a Consultant Midwife. We are looking for highly motivated, committed and clinically excellent midwives who are passionate about delivering high quality, person centred care to women and their families in line with our organisational values.
The consultant midwife role has a remit for leading on initiatives and strategies that promote optimum health and wellbeing for women throughout their pregnancy experience as well as promoting safe, personalised care across all clinical settings in Grampian. The consultant midwife will demonstrate strong leadership skills and will be a role model, leading expert practice in midwifery across NHS Grampian. As a consultant midwife you will work closely with the Associate Director of Midwifery and wider team to develop the professional midwifery agenda.
The Consultant Midwife will be a role model ensuring midwifery practice is underpinned by a philosophy of providing high, quality clinical care for service users and families across Grampian. The successful candidate will evidence exceptional vision, drive, passion and with a broad range of strategic and professional skills. They will be a visible leader working closely with the multi-disciplinary team and engaged with the workforce. The Consultant Midwife must be fully committed to midwifery practice, safety and be able to demonstrate a high level of organisational, analytical and leadership skills. As a Consultant Midwife you will foster a culture of research, innovation and excellence by immersing yourself in clinical practice and being a key part of the multi-disciplinary team.
As consultant midwife you will work across professional and organisational boundaries to develop local services and care. You will be actively involved in undertaking clinical audit, leading, embedding and evaluating evidence based clinical care.
Both roles will work across maternity services in Grampian, with one Consultant Midwife role will be based in Elgin and one in Aberdeen. We have one full time opportunity (37.5 hours) and one part time opportunity available (30 hours).
This is an exciting time to take up this influential role as there are several key strategic developments ongoing across the service including; The Best Start: five-year plan for maternity and neonatal care; The Moray Maternity Review; regional working; and the opening of the new Baird Family Hospital.
