Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, full time (40 hours per week) post based in St John’s Hospital, Livingston.
This is 12 month appointment to cover maternity leave. It is available immediately and will be based at St Johns Hospital, (please note that the individual may be required to work across NHS Lothian). Opportunities may exist to develop sub speciality interest, including Intensive Care.
Applications are invited for two consultants to join the Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at St. John’s Hospital in Livingston for one year to cover maternity leave. The posts are available immediately.
Prospective applicants will be on or within six months of inclusion on the specialist register for anaesthesia and critical care or will have qualifications judged to be equivalent. The posts are full time with 8 direct clinical care programmed activities and 2 supporting professional activities. Up to two extra programmed activities may be available depending on the needs of the service. Both posts are based at St. John’s Hospital; post one is solely at St. John’s and has no critical care component, post two is based at St. Johns but the critical care component is split between St. John’s Hospital and the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. The department has close links with the University of Edinburgh Department of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine and there are a range of opportunities to develop an interest in teaching, research or quality improvement work.
