Title: Physician Associate Intern (temporary appointment) (9 positions)
Location: Various within the Grampian area
Description: hours 37.5 per week
Band: Band 6
Contract temporary for 11 months and 29 days only
Physician associate intern year is based within two locations across the Grampian area; 2 x 6 month rotations in either Aberdeen
The Physician Associate Intern year provides an opportunity to embed skills and competencies, receive further training and deliver patient care in a supportive environment.
Applications are invited from those physician associate students who are about to complete the MSc in physician associate studies from the University of Aberdeen or the postgraduate diploma in physician associate studies from another University.
Applicants must also be registered with the UK managed voluntary register for physician associates.
Candidates must have completed eleven four week clinical placements while on their physician associate course.
The applicants will be expected to maintain their own clinical skills to a high standard to ensure safe delivery of care. They must be able to work flexibly and multi-task when necessary including as required out of hours work.
Candidates on average, will be required one day a week to support undergraduate education.
Satisfactory references, OHS and enhanced PVG Scotland screening will be required prior to commencement of the intern year.
